Pauleen Trim - Botanical Artist
During my career I taught art and design for 25 years at The Bournemouth College and 11 years teaching painting and drawing for the Dorset Adult Education Service, on retirement I took a course in the Art of Botanical Painting and fell in love with painting nature. Having been awarded artist membership of the Hilliard Society of Miniature Painters 25 years ago I found the dry brushwork technique readily lent itself to botanical painting. Working mainly in watercolour, I am particularly interested in the life cycle of plants and often include the end of the life cycle as well as the beginning; I also include the pollinators in my many of my works. I love the detail and textures found in nature and the beautiful colour combinations it so often puts together, I find it never ceases to inspire and amaze me.
