Christina Hart-Davies - Botanical Artist
Christina's work was awarded four RHS Gold Medals at the start of her career in the 1980s.
Her work is held in many prestigious collections including the Hunt Institute of Botanical Documentation, the Shirley Sherwood Collection, the RHS, Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, and private collections worldwide.
She has a special interest in lower plants, particularly lichens, and in Britain's native flora. She travels widely to study and paint native flora all over the world. She also enjoys painting fruits of any kind, though as a professional illustrator is happy to paint anything the publisher requires.
Christina Hart-Davies Tutoring
Workshops in botanical painting with watercolours.
Christina tutors one-day, two-day and longer residential workshops for those with some experience, however little. The classes are informal and friendly, with plenty of individual attention and demonstrations as necessary. Some follow a particular theme, either technique-based such as Working With Pale Colours, or subject-based such as Painting Fruits and Berries. While many attendees wish to achieve a detailed botanical painting style, Christina encourages everyone to find and develop their own style. Workshops take place in various venues in Hampshire, Dorset, and Wiltshire. Contact Christina for a detailed list of this year's courses.
